The President may create such committees as deemed necessary and advisable for the conduction of business of the Corporation. The committees, via each Committee Chair, will report directly to the Vice President. The permanent, standing committees of the Corporation shall be:
By-Laws Committee
Chairman: Bruce Ferrell
Vice Chairman: TBD
The Bylaws Committee shall be chaired by the Parliamentarian and shall:
- Review the Bylaws of the Corporation and recommend any changes to the Board of Directors
- Review any proposed changes to the bylaws, prepare those proposed changes, and present them to the Board of Directors for action
Elections Committee
Chairman: Shawn Williams
Vice Chairman: TBD
The Elections Committee shall be chaired by the Executive Secretary and shall:
- Accept all declarations and nominations for the Officers of the Corporation.
- Review all declarations and nominations to ensure the eligibility of the candidates for office.
- Establish the ballot for the election of Officers
- Conduct the election of Officers
Finance Committee
Chairman: Randy Crank
Vice Chairman: TBD
The Finance Committee will be chaired by the Treasurer and shall:
- Establish a Budget
- Review all monetary transactions of the Corporation
- Seek out funding sources including, but not limited to, grants, gifts and other such monetary donations
Legislative Committee
Chairman: Jeffrey Wennar
Vice Chairman: Dave Starbuck
The purpose of the Legislative Committee is to identify and monitor any proposed or pending state and/or federal legislation which involve the criminal prosecution, sentencing, prevention, education, or intervention of Street Gangs, Prison Gangs and/or youths at risk. The Legislative Committee will utilize NAGIA board members as a means of receiving all available information from throughout the United States. The Legislative Committee will continue to maintain all available information, and develop and maintain liaison with appropriate members of the United States Senate and House, including staff members and persons involved in drafting or promoting gang related legislation. NAGIA shall provide input on the needs of the criminal justice community nationwide and offer support when legislation is deemed to be substantive and having the potential to reduce the many related problems related to street gangs in the United States. The Legislative Committee will report on the status of proposed legislation and any related activities conducted by the committee, to the NAGIA Board Members during quarterly NAGIA meetings.Additionally, the Legislative Committee will work with all other NAGIA Committees for the betterment of the association, at the direction of the NAGIA Vice President.
Membership Committee

The purpose of the Membership Committee is to maintain and increase active membership within the National Alliance of Gang Investigator’s Associations. This will be accomplished by reviewing membership records of current members to ensure they still meet the membership requirements of NAGIA and by actively recruiting new associations in NAGIA. The Membership Committee will also assist any state, which does not have its own Gang Investigators Association in the formation of such an association, according to the needs and wishes of its prospective membership. Additionally, the Membership Committee will work with all other NAGIA Committees for the betterment of the association, at the direction of the NAGIA Vice President.
Training Committee

The purpose of the Training Committee is to: 1) Establish and maintain a Speakers Bureau for the National Alliance of Gang Investigator’s Associations which will be available to all member associations. 2) Be responsible for all Training Publications of the National Alliance of Gang Investigator’s Associations. 3) Coordinate any and all training classes, sessions, conferences, seminars, symposiums and conventions of the National Alliance of Gang Investigator’s Association. This will be accomplished through the establishment of subcommittees and staffed by members of the member associations of NAGIA. Additionally, the Training Committee will work with all other NAGIA Committees for the betterment of the association, at the direction of the NAGIA Vice President.
